This is my final piece of my senior year and I decided to go back to one of my favorite techniques that I used in junior year (the dripping paint). The final product of the piece is not what I was going for in the beginning. I originally intended on having multiple hands at the top of the canvas and they were all going to be reaching down and have paint dripping of their fingers that would fall gently on the petals of the flower. I changed this to being just one hand, and then changed it again to the black nothing. The hands were meant to show the damage of man vs nature, this transitioned into just being about damage and ruining something that is generally “pretty”. The final product of this piece is all about that, about the damage on beautiful things.
